Narcissus poeticus ~ Poet’s Daffodil

Narcissus poeticus – Poet’s Daffodil or Pheasant’s Eye: a red-orange accented, white petaled and extremely fragrant daffodil.  This is apparently the flower that Narcissus was turned into in Greek mythology. I find myself non-stop staring at this flower, just like Mr. Narcissus started at his beautiful self in the reflection of the pond that was his demise. But his demise is our gain; for now we have this lovely flower around us!

I have apologetically accepted my love for flowers, plants and the need, the desperate drive to have them all over my home and life. I just can’t help it, it’s my nature.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to go outside and pick some flowers!
