Garden Tea

Garden Tea, it’s so fresh and simple; wander around outside and harvest herbs, place them in a cup, cover with just boiled water, steep for 10-20 mins, strain and drink.

There isn’t a specific ratio, measurement or recipe, just pick sprigs of herbs and throw in a cup. I prefer a pint canning jar because it’s heat safe and makes a cold amount of tea.

After you pour your first cup of tea, keep adding boiled water and re-steeping. The flavor of the fresh herbs lasts longer than dried herbs. I can re-steep the tea at least 4 more times within 24 hours.

I added things I found outside my apartment to some dried herbs I had recently harvested:

  • Lemon Balm
  • Spearmint
  • Peppermint
  • Thyme
  • Bee Balm (Monarda)
  • Dried Rose petals
  • Dried Chamomile

  1. I am going to try this today. I can’t believe I’ve never made tea with the herbs in the garden.
